Current Events – About

Writings in this section analyze and evaluate current issues and events in the Canadian civic and political world as they happen. They are not limited to any specific level of government and do not necessarily cover politicians at all. Current events posts are about people as civil actors shaping civic society, they are about specific events altering the civil landscape of the country, or about ideas capturing the imaginations of those participating in modern civil discussion.

An important column in the current events section is Champions of Democracy. This column highlights Canadian citizens who help to raise the bar on our national discourse and better our society by being vocal and/or instrumental members of it.

A sidekick column is found in Heritage Heroes which celebrates those individuals in our country and our communities who protect and celebrate our national heritage. These individuals, through their tireless work in heritage, help to better inform the citizens of this country and highlight the importance of our heritage in the present.
